Interesting	Make tests easier with more of a variety of different types of questions, fill in the blank, essays, short answers.
I enjoyed the lectures and the materials taught.	I don't know how you could make this better but the information seemed very crammed together.
He's very organized and uses class time efficiently without going too fast.	The list of things that we needed to know for the final was helpful. It would have been nice to have those on the other 2 tests as well.
The teacher was very good at teaching this class.  He seemed to know what he was doing.  He had a passion for teaching this subject.	Maybe have some extra credit or make-up quizzes.  Other than that the class was good.
It was a great learning experience, challenging.
It was not boring.  That is not always the case when you take a history class.  He made the material understandable and I like his use of outside materials (ie. video clips)	It is not always totally clear what is going to be on the exams, and sometimes the wording of questions is too confusing.  The text is not organized very efficiently for a class scheduled by dates (ie. 202 = 1840-1900).  It is more for subject matter.
I liked the lectures because they were very clear and the information presented was on the test.  There were no surprises on the test.  The primary source documents were very interesting.	This class can only be improved by students regularly taking part in some discussion.  The tests are not hard unless one neglects to take the computer quizzes.
The enthusiasm of the teacher, funny, nice guy, made it fun.	Review sheets to study before the test.
	It is difficult as a student to "use my discression" when reading the text.  Much more helpful when specific pages were given.
I liked the lecture format of the class and how the lectures were kept interesting.  It was mentioned at the beginning of class that previous students felt the tests were very hard, so they weren't as hard as I thought they'd be.	I didn't like that we had to take the tests on our own time.   I did appreciate the exception fo the first test, however.
Reinforced text reading, very organized, itemized lecture notes, videos, quizzes really help.	There is so much material, if you could stress "You'll need to especially know this" (which you have done), it helps.
Great teacher - I grew up in Canada and this was my first exposure to this material.  I found it very interesting.	No improvement needed.
I liked how the teacher was extremely knowledgeable and well organizes.	This class is great.  I learned a lot and had a good time in class.
I really enjoyed the class because he was interested in the subject and picked interesting topics to discuss and videos with related material.  It was also nice to have the test questions on the internet.	The tests are really hard!
Full of information, computer experience.	A clear study guide would be helpful that doesn't involve a computer screen.
The subject seemed to be fairly narrowed.	The use of a study guide for the tests.
Instructor's enthusiasm and the fact that he made great efforts to be available for help.
Videos shown.	Go over some definitions in book, make things more clear and easy to understand.  Be more clear on what to study for the the tests
It was vey interesting because this is my first college history class and we learned what actually happened as opposed to middle and hight school where all we learned were the good positive things.	Tests in class.
Good Civil War chapter.	Instructor seemed to talk about farmers twice as much as last term dispite their decreasing numbers.  Maybe spend mroe time discussing Native americans.

I like that the instructor seemed enthusiastic about the subject.   I feel I learned a lot.	Maybe more class participation - let students answer question - have input to subject.  I think Joe isa good teacher but firm with testing.
Very interesting class, taught with a strong love of subject.	More in-class review.

The teacher's enthusiasm keeps history interesting, likean ongoing story.  My third term and I loved it.  Using quizzes helps a lot.	I would love more study guide and/or review sheets for the tests.

I felt Joe was enthusiastic about teaching history.	Maybe if he didn't talk so fast and slowed down a little.

It taught me what I needed to know and graded me fairly.
Mr. Escobar was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable - able to answer related questions easily.  Multi-medium teaching was effective and interesting.  Objective teaching style was interesting.	The study guide for the last test was very helpful - it would be nice if all tests had guides.
The thoroughness we achieved in our overview of this time period.
Interesting and very enthusiastic.	No tests outside class.  I work full time and have class full time.  It is very difficult to come in due to lack of free time.  Should be noted on registration packet.
Escobar's enthusiasm and knowledge on the subject.
I learned alot and it was all interesting.	I think time could be used better.  I felt rushed alot of the time when writing notes during lecture.
I liked his no-nonsense style - he used class time very effectively - he gives half the answers to the test on the quizzes.	If you don't haev the internet at home, it makes it tougher to do well in the class - he seems to have a prejudice against people without computers.
	More handouts in conjunction with lectures.
Personally, I just love history.  I enjoyed sitting in class and listening to the lectures.  I think it's fascinating.	The reading seemed pointless to me.  I only read the 1st chapter and I have a strong B in the class.  Either cover more in class and abandon the reading or cover less and rely more on the reading.
The instructor spend a considerable amount of time finding interesting and relevant material and bringing it to class.  He was very prepared and made the class extremely enjoyable.  He was also an excellent teacher.  I found it possible to understand the complex issues that were discussing.  I especially appreciated his approach to history.  He gave the many complex and varying sides to each issue so that we might better understand the times and the conflicts.  Overall,  I thought he was an excellent instructor and it was an excellent class.
Mr. Escobar was highly knowledgeable and seemed to have a genuine love of history.  His use of spectrums was very helpful in pointing out themes that otherwise would have been vague.	NA
Lecture presentations are never dull.	If you have a fettish for detail and want a challenge, this is the class for you!
The enthusiasm and knowledge of the instructor, as well as his effective use of the internet.	Testing was very challenging since multiple chose questions could have tricky answers.  Access to computer tests helped tremendously.
Joe's sense of humor.  His lectures are fast-paced and interesting and of course the subject of history.	1. less relying on computer 2. maybe discussion between students over course material 3. less test questions for midterms 4. different textbook
