I liked how it was structured 

The teacher effectively taught through multiple perspectives instead of limiting the materials to one way of mind.

I enjoyed the integration of video clips from documentaries into the lectures, as well as the forum topics.

History can be a very boring subject at times, but Professor Escobar makes it interesting.  The Professor makes it very clear when things are due and his expectations  for each assignment. He lets you know when he says something if its on the test.  the class is very easy to take notes on because the information is very clear.

I think that it goes over a lot of material, which makes midterms and finals difficult, due to the amount of information that you have to process. The forums are also difficult, becasue of having to respond to other people.

This class challenged me to closely read the chapters and worksheets for forums and go deeper into any subject. I especially liked the media and the content associated. Although the weather at times did not permit us to meet, Professor Escobar still made the lessons accessible. I also really enjoyed the lecture slides and videos, I was enthused to learn more about the subject because I could observe that Professor Escobar was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This was the most unbiased class I have ever taken at Lane. 

I liked the workload in and outside the class. I also liked how the professor taught the material clearly and consistently reminded us about upcoming work. 

Cartoons

It was a great class. I had long wanted to take a class like this to have a better understanding of US history than what I remember from high school. I like the new chapter quiz system better than what we had in the online class last term. I like how you can take the quiz as many times as you want, and get a new 20 questions out of a pool of 100 questions or so. I like the midterm and final exam practice questions as well. 

I thought the forums were a nice way to think about issues in history critically and form opinions. And possibly to help students gain practice and proficiency in writing. 

The forum was hard, but it was exciting.

The professor was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made class much more enjoyable.

Change the due date for quizes. I thought it was odd they would be in the beginning of the week before even a class, this led me miss a few. 

Maybe add a mid-week assignment pertaining to the first half of the chapter for that week. This could encourage them to be reading the chapter throughout the week as opposed to cramming everything in in the last day or two before the quiz.

I don't honestly see how this class could be improved.

Would've loved to watch wizard of Oz during class.  The forums I agree are very good for learning purposes because it actually makes the student think but I believe the due date for each assignment to be a little strict. As long as you participate as much as asked i Don't feel like you should be punished.

Late work would be appreciated, as in if you forget to do a quiz making it up for lower points would be very beneficial. It would also encourage students to do missed work to improve their understanding of the material. This should be in the professors best interest, in my opinion.

One improvement I could recommend as a student is to make the mandatory first forum post by Monday, rather than Saturday/Sunday. I am not very fond of receiving homework on weekends and I work hard to finish my work before the weekend begins so that I do not have to worry. I understand this would upset the "at least every other day forum posting" schedule, but there may be workarounds. Otherwise, the class was near perfect. 

I liked the course and don't think there could be any immediate improvements.

The finals were especially difficult 

It was a pretty good class overall. Maybe a few more opportunities at extra credit would be nice. 

The test should be easier to get normal grades.
