Introduce yourself by describing the town, state and country where you were born. As you read each other's introductions during the week, you can reply to them, not just to me. That will make it seem like a "conversation".  To keep the discussion threaded from my initial posting, always choose "reply.

Important Note: We actually aren't going to discuss the reading during this DC, but the Opinion Questions for this week do ask about the reading.

III. Unit 1 Study Questions (your Assignment) (10 points) Preparation Questions

(DUE midnight [11:55 pm]  Saturday)

IMPORTANT Note: As you read this book, keep in mind that who Ellyn Satter sees most often are people she terms "dieting casualties". This book gives the impression that all Americans are victims of this. While I agree that far too many are victims, I feel that's not true of everyone. Some people have a goal of eating in a healthy fashion and truly enjoy it. They enjoy the challenge of it AND they often take great pleasure in their food. Nutrition guidelines to them are positive and they may avoid high fat foods not because of negative reasons but because they simply do not like them. So while reading this, ask yourself "Do nutrition rules help me to often eat with pleasure in a more healthy way or do they lead to less healthful eating and less pleasure for me?" (Note- If restrictive diets are necessary because of a health condition, perhaps you can keep working toward making eating a positive experience.)

For these Study Questions, as well as for all of the remaining these Study Questions, you will get just one opportunity to submit the Study Questions.

Also, for these Study Questions, as well as for all of the remaining sets of Study Questions, to receive full credit, you should select all of the possible answers that are correct.
