- mayo (can add garlic
powder, pepper, and whatever other spices are around that might make it
tasty)
- Brianna's Honey Mustard dressing
- Kewpie Fukairi's Deep-Roasted Sesame Dressing

- poppyseed dressing
- miso dressing....with a
touch of sesame oil, rice vinegar, olive oil & a touch of water
- sour cream

I make myself
- barbeque sauce
- orange juice and mustard
vinaigrette
- lemon - oil based
dressing that has celery seeds and a touch of dry mustard and garlic
- jalapeno ranch dressing
or lite bleu cheese
- homemade salsa
- I then make up a dressing
with a little light yogurt, a
little melted mango sorbet, and some lemon juice. Mix that with some
cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger. It is a really fresh tasting salad.
- Italian dressing from
Olive Garden
- Annie's Shitake and
Sesame Vinagrette
- mix basic salad
dressings, like a little each of ranch, blue cheese, catalina and
italian.
- mix fish sauce, chili,
fresh lime juice, and sugar
COMBINATIONS
- spinach, strawberries, red onion, toasted almonds and
cucumbers with a lemony vinegar dressing
- Mixed
greens with the typical cucumber, tomato, carrots, etc. The more the
better. Mix together 2 parts seasoned rice vinegar to one part oil. Add
salad supreme (lauries I think) dill, salt and pepper, parmesan,
garlic, and any of your favorites. Toss with the salad. You can add
chicken too. My family eats this alot in the summer with bread as a
side
dish.
- two tablespoons apple jelly mixed with 1 tbsp of rice
vinegar. put
in micro to melt together. put fresh spinach in a bowl and cover with
bite size granny smith apple and then the dressing. Kids love it!
- "when I am traveling somewhere or want a health meal on the
go I
absolutely love preparing a salad as usual in a bowl with all my
fixings and then just putting it in a spinach tortilla. A wrap
basically. But I have all the wonderful varieties of a yummy salad all
wrapped up in a nice portable tortilla."
- Bartlette pears and a lite ceasar (and seriously, go EASY
on the dressing too much will be too viniagary) do something wonderful
when they mix in a green salad, along with purple grapes and grape
tomatoes.
- A WORD of ADVICE: Regular ol' ranch dressing is not so good
on fruits. I suggest a viniagrette, one that looks like its mostly oil.
- Another good green salad mix combo is raspberry vinagrette,
strawberries/blackberries, fresh green beans and pecans/walnuts, just
remember: ALWAYS start off easy when trying new dressings, you can
always add more as needed. : )
- I love adding fruits to my salad! Apples and gorgonzola
cheese are a match made in heaven.
- I slice up any fruit we have such as apples, and
strawberrys. I put them in the fridge with some lemon juice and
sometimes some white wine and homemade dressing.
- Our favorite kind of salad is taco salad, which we usually
make from the leftover taco meat. We add kidney beans to the taco meat
to season the beans, some mexican cheese, olives, tomatoes, then we mix
it up with catalina dressing and then put some crushed up doritos on
top with a dollop of sour cream.
- We also like to make taco salad with left over veggie meat
and a few corn tortilla shells. We like to add multiple types of
lettuce, tomato, green onion, olives, and black plus kidney beans. We
then put this over a small baked potato. It is a great way to get in a
variety of foods and it taste great. I like it with a little ranch or
sour cream on top.
- I also like to cut up old bread, drizzle it
with olive oil and a few herbs and put it
in the toaster oven to make homeade croutons.
- Our favorite way to make a salad is to make sure we have at
least 7 different veggies in there. Most of the time it is the same
recipe; Romain lettuce, cherry tomato's, pickled beats, carrots, pea
pods, cucumbers, and radishes. Sometimes we switch the beats out with
broccoli but it just depends on our mood. We also throw in either
turkey or chicken breast.
- I like dill pickles in my salads with ranch but if I use
italian I use lots of tomatoes.
- Poppy-seed dressing with honey-glazed almonds, pineapple
and avocado is delicious.
