Welcome to the review site for the Math Placement test!
Please read the introduction before you start the practices.
You can review and practice here before you go to the Testing Office for the math placement test.
is this all about? It is to help you prepare for successful placement testing.
WHAT is this all about? It is for your successful placement in math courses.
- Beginning step: The key to success and enjoyment of learning math is in getting started at the right place. You will most likely be more satisfied and comfortable if you start onto the path of math and science by selecting the appropriate beginning stepping stone.
- A Summary of Concepts: The following reviews list the key concepts that are taught in the specified math course. The reviews present concepts in the order they are taught and give examples of their use.
- Keep in mind: These reviews are not intended to be a short course. You should use them simply to help you determine at what skill level in math you should begin your study.
WHY are these reviews useful?
- To help refresh your memory on old math skills you may have forgotten.
- To prepare for math placement test.
- To help you decide which math course is best for you.
- To save you time and money by helping you get into the correct math class.
HOW you can use these reviews.
- Spend time on the reviews to get the maximum benefit.
- Try each problem on paper before checking the solutions.
- Don't use a calculator as the placement tests are without calculators.
WHEN to use these reviews
- Before you take the placement test.
- Anytime for additional review. Your scores will not be saved indefinitely in this Moodle site.
- Passing the placement test does not mean you have all the concepts mastered that are presented in the corresponding class. If you bypass a class you may be at risk of not being prepared for the next higher level.
WHERE to use to these reviews
- The reviews are available right here online in Moodle so you can access them from any computer.
- Paper sheets can also be printed for free or purchased at LCC bookstore. (click here to find the review sheets)
After reviewing the math concepts, then go to the Testing Office to make arrangements for the actual Placement Test.
