Objectives
- Describe main characteristics selected endocrine diseases (diabetes, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal)
- Recognize common signs and symptoms of selected endocrine disorders
- Select appropriate tests and measures to monitor response to movement in simulated patients with endocrine disorders
- Instruct a simulated patient with diabetes in self-management strategies that optimize movement
- Select interventions in the physical therapy plan of care that would minimize impairments associated with endocrine disorders in simulated patients
- Describe the role of the PTA patient education for endocrine disease and disorder management
- Recognize psychosocial affects of diabetes
